The Conscientious Observers was formed by a group of Chartered Engineers, who are concerned about the lack of leadership shown by the ‘voice of the engineering profession’ in Ireland for over a decade now in response to Sustainability, Climate Change and Biodiversity loss. Chartered Engineers have a particular responsibility to advocate for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in the interest of the wellbeing of present and future generations.
Purpose
In the words of Ernest Friedrich Schumacher “We must do what we conceive to be the right thing, and not bother our heads or burden our souls with whether we are going to be successful. Because if we don’t do the right thing, we’ll be doing the wrong thing, and we will just be part of the disease, and not part of the cure.”
